NmRRL Director and members named "Healthcare Heroes" by Cincinnati Business Couries
NmRRL Director Dr. Stephen Page, along with NMRRL members Peter Levine, Valerie Hill, and Mary Ryan, were named by the Cincinnati Business Courier as a 2006 Healthcare Hero. The Business Courier created the awards in 1998 to celebrate excellence in the healthcare industry. The awards honor people who have made an impact on healthcare in the community through their concern for patients, research and inventions, management skills, or service to the poor and uninsured.
Page volunteers with the Amerian Heart Association, including serving in various capacities for their Heart Ball the past several years and being honored with the most community speaking hours of any AHA volunteer in 2005. He also serves in other community capacities, such as Netwellness and the Hamilton County Falls Task Force. His laboratory, which currently has 8 funded clinical trials, works with community organizations and hospitals to provide information to, and improve the motor function of, community-dwelling survivors of stroke and spinal cord injury, among others.
