About Us
Located within Drake Rehabilitation Center, one of the country's largest and most comprehensive rehabilitation hospitals, the Neuromotor Recovery and Rehabilitation Laboratory (NmRRL) is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of researchers and clinicians from rehabilitation, neurology, engineering, and neurosurgery, to name a few.
Despite our various backgrounds, our singular focus is restoring motor function after disability. We achieve this goal through free research studies examining therapies that will be seen by clinics and managed care as reasonable, reimbursable, and effective.
A Place to Recover; A Place to Learn...
Most of our research occurs at our dedicated laboratory space, located at Drake Rehabilitation Center. However, if you are not from the tristate area, you can also travel to Cincinnati, and participate in our Resident in Research (R n' R) program, which allows individuals to stay at a local assisted living faciility located adjacent to Drake Center.
We also act as a clearinghouse and information resource for individuals with neurological disabilities and their families/caregivers To serve this need, we are affiliated with NetWellness.com, the nation's leading ask-an-expert forum. Please feel free to visit the rehabilitation area of Netwellness, where our laboratory director, Dr. Stephen Page, will be happy to direct your question to an appropriate professional.
Lastly, we serve as a training site for rehabilitation professionals, working with medical students, physical and occupational therapists, physicians, and others to assist in development of research projects, data collection, data management, and data analysis of rehabilitation-related research projects. Dr. Page is a Faculty Research Fellow at The Institute for Health Research at The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, which gives us access to a cadre of health policy and cost effectiveness researchers, as well as bio statistical support.
